Istanbul: The ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, which have been ongoing since October 7, have resulted in a tragic toll. According to Palestinian Health Minister Mai al Kaila, the death toll has now exceeded 3,300, with over 13,000 people injured. These numbers are approximate due to the challenging conditions in Gaza resulting from the continuous Israeli bombardment.
One of the pressing issues is the severe shortage of essential medicines in Gaza, and there are difficulties in accessing hospitals. Moreover, the water supply has been disrupted, and the sewage system has deteriorated, increasing the risk of infectious diseases spreading.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad group has denied Israeli claims that it accidentally struck the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday with a misfired rocket, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people. The group, in a statement released on Wednesday, emphasized that it does not use public facilities, especially hospitals, for military purposes. They asserted their commitment, along with other resistance groups in Gaza, to refrain from using places of worship, public facilities, including hospitals, military installations, or weapon storage.
The statement further accused Israel of attempting to deflect responsibility for such tragic events and the targeting of other hospitals, considering Israeli accusations as a serious effort to avoid being held accountable for these actions.
