Tehran: In a statement released on Wednesday, it was strongly asserted that the recent atrocity, where Israeli airstrikes targeted al-Ahli Arab Hospital (also known as Baptist Hospital) in Gaza, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 500 Palestinian civilians, predominantly women and children, will not go unanswered. The statement emphasized that leaders of European countries and the United States are complicit in the war crimes committed by the Israeli regime.
The act was described as a blatant example of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and a massacre of women, children, and vulnerable patients. The statement highlighted that this incident exposed the depths of the Zionist regime’s brutality, indifference to human principles, and its fundamentally anti-human nature.
While vehemently condemning this heinous crime, the Islamic Republic of Iran called upon the international community and the United Nations to take immediate action to halt the crimes committed by the Zionist regime, which has been involved in numerous atrocities from the time of the Nakba to the present day. It was emphasized that the attack on a hospital filled with innocent, wounded, and sick women and children would undoubtedly be recorded as a turning point in the regime’s list of crimes against humanity.
The Iranian government further urged Islamic nations, as well as all freedom-seeking and independent governments and international organizations, to unite and provide comprehensive support for the resistance of the Palestinian people. The statement called for the severing of ties with the illegitimate and unlawful Zionist regime, including the expulsion of its ambassadors and representatives from countries and international assemblies.
Since the commencement of the Israeli regime’s aggression against the Gaza Strip, approximately 3,200 people have lost their lives in the besieged enclave.
